You're like me. You look for commercials that are clever and humorous.
In past years, I had a 0-5 scale, 5 being "Holy crap! (or) I'm ROTFLMAO! This is one of the best commercials of all time!" (EDS' "Cat Herding" and Apple's "1984" rank as 5's) to 0 being "This is crap! I'm not gonna buy their product ever again!" I still used it to rank this year's commercials, but I didn't bother to list all of them in my blog this year.
