Been busy this week schlepping boxes from my spare bedroom into a rented storage cell. I need to make room for the new addition coming into my life in a few months. My wife's pregnant and is due at the end of August. The spare bedroom is going to become the baby's room.

I've also been cash-poor this week. Last weekend, I tried to get money out of an ATM. After I put my debit card in, it shut down and rebooted. Five minutes later, it comes back to life and says it's out of service. And it devoured my card. Argh! It should have told me that at the beginning of the transaction. And so I had to call my bank, put a stop on the card, and request a new card. I'm still waiting. In the meantime, I'm using my credit card for the things I would have placed on my debit card, like meals.

I also noticed that during the reboot sequence, the ATM, which was built by NCR, runs a version of OS/2. Nice to know that the OS is still around in some way. I liked it better than Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. And it was the only way I could play Wolfenstein 3-D; it would lock up my machine if I tried to play the game under DOS.

Tonight, we went out for Indian food. My wife got her usual -- chicken korma -- and I had the chicken jalfrezi.
