Fri 5/6 Came home. Had Pizzeria Uno for supper. Tried to format the new laptop hard drive. But it found a few bad sectors and I went to bed before it finished.
Sat 5/7 The hard drive format completed, but Norton SystemWorks mistook the label change as a malicious activity, so the format didn't complete. Took The Girl to KinderMusik. Filled up the tank and got subs while she was in class with R.
After class, tried to get McNuggets for M. Was asked to pull to the side, but all 3 spots were taken, so we pulled into the closest spot we could. After 5 minutes....no McNuggets. R goes into the restaurant to get them, and is told "We couldn't find your car." Well, duh! All three of the reserved-for-drive-through spots were occpied.
Stopped briefly at home, had my monthly chiropractor adjustment, stopped for ice cream at Graeter's. I thought I saw my old car ('94 Saturn SL1 with Ventshades) being driven by a UD student. Didn't get a chance to stop in and examine the VIN number. Then took a circuitous route to Possum Creek Farm, to see the baby animals there. Then I stopped at Target to get some Mother's Day gifts on behalf of The Girl.
Dinner was carryout from The Chop House, one of my favorite steak houses. Great steaks. But R got squicked because she saw what appeared to be someone else's salad dressing on the salad below the cup of the dressing she ordered. She called the restaurant, complained, and we'll be getting some coupons from them for future visits.
Sun 5/8 R didn't care for the gifts, so I took them back, no questions asked. Got her pancakes and bacon from a local cafe. (Sure enough, all the breakfast/brunch places were PACKED today.)
While she took M to the park to ride the swings, I cleaned up the kitchen. Got rid of accumulated cruft and clutter (okay, I bagged what I thought I could reuse again), scrubbed the countertops, and Swiffer-WetJetted the floor. Also took the pop cans out to the garage, crushed them, brought out some lawn decorations, cleaned the wind chines, and brought out the recyclables. The kitchen is a much nicer room to be in. If I can spend 2 hrs/week on each room of the house, eventually the house will be clean.
Stopped at Skyline for lunch, then to a local Hallmark store for better Mother's Day gifts, and then to Sam's Club for some household goods. Dinner was carry-out from Sweeney's, another favorite restaurant of ours. Dessert was at Ritter's Frozen Custard.
While R and M were getting a shower (or a "bath" as R calls it to M), I started sorting through some coins. Didn't get very far; I had to drop what I was doing because I had to take care of M or do something for her. I really resent having my work interrupted to take care of her. I don't handle work interruptions well. I have a hard time picking up where I left off. And that's a sore point with R.
Called my mom to wish her a happy day. But I got their answering machine instead.
And spent the rest of the night online, catching up on the weekend's email and blogs.
Gotta go to bed now so I can get up early.
