I hate clothes that are too tight. They make me feel fat. Time to wash them and put them in the donations sack.

I'm wearing a burgundy cotton twill shirt and jeans today. (I love long-sleeve cotton twill shirts in the wintertime.) The bottom two buttons popped and went MIA some time ago. If I found them, or found replacements, and sewed them back on, would they stay on? Would I be comfortable in that shirt, or not?

I should have worn the striped rugby shirt instead.

Do clothes shrink over time? Or am I (still) getting bigger?

Recap: Some time ago, I mentioned that I bought two new phones -- a base unit and an extra handset -- and that the extra handset wasn't working. I thought it was the battery, so I searched for and bought a replacement battery. When we last left this story, the second battery didn't work. I'd try to step through the menus, and the extra handset would shut down.

Tonight, after charging the battery for a week, I followed [livejournal.com profile] bikergeek's suggestion and re-registered the phone with my extra handset. Success! I also saw that the handset name on the display was "Jeanette". That piqued my curiosity. I looked through the saved numbers and there were about 15 saved numbers that I did not recognize. I looked through the caller ID record and there were about 40 calls saved in memory. The last call was about 6 months ago. I erased both the saved numbers and caller ID records. Then I tried using the phone. It worked! I also dialed my home number using my cell phone to test the ringer.

I don't know the history of this phone. It appeared to be new when it was packaged. It might have been a refurbished model, but there was no indication on the box or the unit that it was. In any event, the previous owner didn't do a good job of wiping the memory on the phone before taking it back or sending it out for service. And this is probably why the phone would shut down after a few seconds or say "out of range".

Sidenote: Watched tonight's Doctor Who. They made the Cybermen look (and act) outright scary! I just need to remember that it's on Friday nights at 8, and not watch the hockey game.
